Silvana Garavelli is a senior staff member and Head of the International Procurement Department within Italtrend, with more than twenty years experience in international operations.

Since 1992 her role inside the company has been largely devoted to the management of the most complex procurement and technical assistance programmes implemented by Italtrend in Eastern Europe and the Middle East under various donors (EC Phare, Tacis, Meda, EBRD, Italian Government, Swedish Government) for a total amount of around 250 MEuro. Her tasks have involved close liaison with the Donors as well as with the beneficiary Governments. She has been responsible for the operation of the various dedicated teams both at the Head office as well as on the field.

She is chairman of FEDPRO, the International Federation of procurement Specialist Organisations.

She has extensive experience across the Balkans, especially Albania, FYROM and Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has fulfilled the role of Backstopping Director for the CKP/Italtrend BiH Police project since 2002
